\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe National Fisheries Institute (NFI) is a US-based non-profit organisation dedicated to education about seafood safety, sustainability, trade and nutrition. NFI and its members are committed to sustainable seafood by endorsing the United Nations Principles for Responsible Fisheries. In addition to their campaigning for marketplaces supporting free trade and responsible fishing and aquaculture, they also ensure the media and consumers have the facts about the health benefits of fish and shellfish.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Food and Beverage Importers Association (FBIA)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Food and Beverage Importers Association (FBIA), undertakes advocacy functions surrounding food sustainability, biosecurity, food safety, traceability and human rights. It works as the industry liaison body representing the trade on several Australian Government consultative committees including biosecurity, food imports, weights and measures, modern slavery, food safety, fish names and product traceability.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Global Aquaculture Alliance<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBest Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification is administered by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), a non-profit organisation dedicated to advocacy, education and leadership in responsible aquaculture. The BAP is the only third-party aquaculture certification program to be compliant with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP) and Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI). BAP aims to improve the environmental, social and economic performance of the aquaculture supply chain and grow the global supply of responsibly farmed seafood.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an ecolabel and fishery certification program for wild-capture fish species. MSC\u2019s blue label on a seafood product means it’s wild, traceable and sustainable.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Aquaculture Stewardship Council<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an ecolabel and certification program for sustainable aquaculture. The ASC works with scientists, conservation groups, aquaculture producers, seafood processors, retail and foodservice companies and consumers to recognise and reward responsible aquaculture. ASC certification applies more than 150 performance indicators and also ensures that the social rights and safety of those who work on the farms and live in local communities are safeguarded. Any product carrying the ASC logo or trademark can be traced throughout the supply chain to an ASC certified source.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) provides a collective and non-competitive approach to provide clarity on seafood certifications. GSSI\u2019s global benchmark tool recognises seafood certification schemes that meet sustainability standards set by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). A seafood certification scheme is recognised by GSSI after successfully completing their 7-step benchmark process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

International Seafood Sustainability Foundation\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLeaders in the tuna industry, acclaimed scientists and environmental champions launched the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) in 2009. Their mission is to undertake and facilitate science-based initiatives for the long-term conservation and sustainable use of global tuna stocks, reducing bycatch and promoting tuna ecosystem health. ISSF works hard to ensure that both present and future stocks remain healthy in the long term.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Better Seafood Board (BSB) is a US industry-led organisation combating fish fraud and seafood mislabelling. Members of the BSB pledge to conduct themselves and their business practices in an honest and trustworthy manner. They pledge to adhere to the industry principles of economic integrity, which include correct labelling for weights and counts, correct labelling for identity and the non-substitution of species in any manner, correct labelling for the country of origin, and adhering to all other labelling laws.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) is an environmental NGO that works with industry to improve global fisheries. They organise and operate FIP\u2019s (Fishery Improvement Programs) for fisheries that need to improve their environmental position. They also operate industry-based working groups that lobby for fisheries improvements.
